I re-made this comic to reflect an amazing natural phenomenon called a "sun dog", a halo around the sun caused by ice-crystals in the atmosphere. You can read more about it here.

This comic was inspired by a 2009 year end blog entry by ice core researcher John Fegyveresi. John is a student from Penn. State who is at WAIS Divide busily "packing ice cores, and taking physical properties samples for the I-168 grant".
